Designed by the Copenhagen-based studio Krøyer-Sætter-Lassen, the Corbel Desk takes its direct design cues from the historic weight-bearing corbels found in classical architecture. Rather than building a bulky four-legged desk that consumes floor layout, the designers turned a simple wall joint into a visible design statement.

The piece perfectly captures the ethos of warm minimalism. By leaving a subtle, deliberate gap between the dark oak veneer top and the wall, it cleverly hides cord drops and chargers, leaving nothing to look at but pure, clean structural lines.

Born from the creative partnership of Mads Sætter-Lassen and Emil Krøyer at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, this piece carries the signature industrial-meets-artistic legacy of Copenhagen's contemporary design scene.

Process

Tectonic Materiality & Steel

The desk features a CNC-cut tabletop bordered with solid oak edges for daily durability, finished with a dark oak lacquer that brings out the deep, undulating wood grains. This is supported by a heavy bent steel rod bracket finished in bronzed brass.
